The short version

Tokodachi World has no telemetry, no account, and no servers by default. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn on the optional leaderboard (see below) — and even then, your API keys, notes and personal files never leave your machine.

What the app touches locally

• In Developer mode: token-usage signals from your AI coding tools (Claude Code, GJC, and similar) — read locally to grow your pet. They never leave your machine.
• In General mode: focus-timer minutes you log in the app — stored locally, used only to grow your pet.
• Pet state, collection, to-dos, notes and preferences — stored in your operating system's app-data folder (e.g. tw-prefs.json).
• Now-playing info: the music remote reads your OS media session locally to display and control playback. Nothing is recorded or transmitted.

Optional agent hooks

If you enable live-pose reactions, the app installs small local hooks in your AI tools' own config (for example ~/.claude/settings.json, or the equivalent for Codex, Gemini, Qwen, Cursor and Copilot) so your pet can react while an agent works. They only run on your machine and can be turned off any time in Settings.

Optional leaderboard

The leaderboard is off by default. If you opt in, the app submits only a coarse, anonymous record to tokodachi.com/api/leaderboard: a random device id, the nickname you choose, your mode, tier, model skin, total fuel (tokens or focus minutes) and days played. No API keys, file contents, notes or account identity are ever included. Leave it off and nothing is transmitted; you can opt out any time in Settings.

Shareable cards

When you copy a card share link, your tier and stats are encoded into the URL on your machine — you choose where, if anywhere, to post it. The card image and link are generated locally.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects the billing information needed to complete your order under their own privacy policy. We receive your email address with the order so your receipt and download can be delivered — nothing else.

This website

This landing page is static and sets no cookies or analytics of its own. When you start checkout, our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) loads its own checkout script, which may set cookies needed to process payment.
